Sex Therapy 101: A Queer Odyssey

Part 1 – Orientations: Before You Enter The Space

Join us for a first of its kind introductory series to sex therapy with a queer lens! At the moment, there are no formal sexology qualifications in South Africa and many of us feel a bit lost.
This four-part series has been designed to help orient and guide you through the odyssey of sex therapy. The series has been developed with the entire multi-disciplinary team in mind and we invite everyone who works in sexual health to join us!

“Sex Therapy 101: A Queer Odyssey” will be running sequentially throughout this year in the evenings. Each event includes a theme, a reading, critical engagement, and practical skills training based on a relevant case study.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to network with other sexual health professionals, get your CPD points and enjoy some refreshments. You will learn (and unlearn) essential knowledge and skills to queer sex therapy. Don’t miss this chance to expand your frontiers and enhance your sex therapy practice!

Journal Club Dates:
1. Orientations: Before You Enter the Space – 19 March 2024
2. Unfolding: The Sexual History – 7 May 2024
3. Mapping: Formulating the Case – 25 June
4. Alchemy: The Art of Intervention – 13 August 2024

CPD Points: 2 per journal club

You are welcome to attend as many as you like, although it is recommended that you attend all four.
There is limited capacity so please register early to avoid disappointment.
